Whenever I realize that my husband and I have been packing on the pounds (from our serious quarter pounder addiction) I know it’s time to pump the breaks. I don’t throw our family into the latest fad diet but I always go to clean eating. Lean meats, veggies, fruits and healthy fats. It’s my tried and true. We have done this long enough through the years that it’s mainly how I cook on a normal basis now. It’s not a diet but a healthier lifestyle and it is actually still yummy! Of course I have comfort foods and not so healthy recipes we love as well and I will be posting but, we try not to stray too far off the wagon. I’ll be sharing my favorite clean eating recipes but, if you are looking for more or just not sure where to start go to Pinterest and type in “Clean eating“ or “Paleo” recipes and you’ll get some great ones. I don’t go too strict or deprive myself. I just make healthier decisions and meal plan with these clean eating recipes in mind. If you don’t plan ahead then you're setting yourself up to splurge on those yucky foods your body doesn't need.
A great example of easy, clean eating meal prep is in the picture for this post. Coat chicken breasts and your favorite veggies with olive oil and seasoning. Spread out evenly on a baking sheet and bake! Easy, delicious and healthy, you can’t beat that. My favorite seasoning that I have found that is perfect for this recipe is from Paul’s Meat market in Ferguson, MO. I used to work down the road and stopped in for steaks after work and they talked me into getting that as well. I was definitely impressed and will be going back for a new bottle soon.
